An old Wagenborg tug.

This tug is from 1938 and was built in the yard of Bijlsma in Wartena. That it concerns a design from the thirties is obvious considering her graceful lines. This ship was built on speculation but was hired very soon as a harbour tug by Wagenborg Delfzijl. Together with her sister ship “GOLFBREKER” she rendered in the fifties spectacular pictures with ice breaking in the northern waters. For that purpose the boat is equipped with a special round shaped bow. After the period with Wagenborg she soon fell in disrepair. However she was saved from demolition by Feith v.o.f. from Harlingen. The new owner replaced the old Brons engine of 150 HP from 1938, which could not be used anymore, by another one from the same make and year.. He also restored the ship to her original appearance, including the original colors of the company Wagenborg. Nowadays the ship has her permanent berth in Harlingen at the yard of Feith.
