The steamtug "ROEK"
This boat was built in 1930 in the yard of Gebr. v.d.Windt in Vlaardingen and launched under the name of "JACOMIEN". The principal company was Fransen in Dordrecht. The boat had different owners in the course of the time and was transformed into a motor tug around 1970. Finally, however, she was reconstructed in her original state. She also became an oil-heated boiler and her pilothouse was enlarged.
The "ROEK" is a well known appearance on the different steamfestivals in The Netherlands. Her homeport is Enkhuizen. Owner is Mr. Wm. P. Murphy Jr. of Coral Gables/Florida/USA.
