This Frisian tjalk is from the year 1899, thus more than 100 years old. She was built to carry cheese to the market in the city but with her length of 12,50 meters she was a bit too small for the job.
Therefore it seems that the ship, before World War II, was already altered into a yacht. In her long live she always gave her owners a great deal of joy. The last owner overhauled the ship so that she looks, according to the text under a photo, “picture perfect”! This description also applies to the model that the company Bart made from this ship.
